Learn about reusable nappies, claim your free nappy voucher and celebrate Reusable Nappy Week 2023 at our Westminster Reusable Nappy and Baby Clothes Give and Take at Church Street Library.
If you have have preloved good quality reusable nappies, baby clothes (0-3 years) and maternity wear only (no toys), you are welcome to donate these at our event, and take away anything for free. No need to bring to take. This event is a great way to get started using reusable nappies for free, and to meet local parents.
Alice and Jenny from Real Nappies for London will be on hand to provide reusable nappy advice, and the Recycling Team at Westminster City Council will also be on hand for advice on recycling at home. If you are unable to make it on the day but have a donation then please drop us an e-mail: info@realnappiesforlondon.org.uk.
Parents living in Westminster, who are either pregnant or have a baby under 18 months, can apply for their free £70.00 reusable nappy voucher in-person on the day (please bring the required supporting documents)

Real Nappies for London is a waste prevention initiative administered by the Women’s Environmental Network. The voucher scheme is funded by the London Boroughs of Barnet, Bexley, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Lambeth, Waltham Forest, Westminster City Council and the North London Waste Authority. Join Real Nappies for London and Hackney Nappy Network for a Reusable Nappy Week Meet Up on Wednesday 26th April 2023.
We will be in the midst of celebrating Reusable Nappy Week (24th – 30th April 2023) so we would love to bring people together and provide any advice about reusable nappies for new parents who’d like to know more. All are welcome from any borough in London. The meet up is informal and baby-friendly, so bring your little one if you would like to. Parents who already use reusable nappies can share their experiences and learn more about volunteering to promote reusable nappies in their local area.
If the weather is good, we will be placed in Haggerston Park and will supply picnic blankets and light refreshments. If the weather is not on our side, we will meet in the cafe at Hackney City Farm. We will let registrants know in advance where the exact location will be before the day.

TOY SWAP
Did you know it is estimated that in the UK the average spend per child on toys is £294 annually!
Want to get a new toy for your child without spending money and helping the environment? Then join us at this friendly community event.
Please bring toys that are in good condition. Please bring a maximum of 3 toys to swap. Only bring toys you are happy to donate and swap for another. The number of items that can be swapped will depend on the amount of toys we get on the day, but everyone will be able to go home with at least one toy.
The event organisers do not take any responsibility for any broken/damaged toys. It is the carers responsibility to ensure they are suitable for the age and ability of the child and are fit for purpose. Further disclaimers see below.
If you have a larger toy that is in need of minor repair work, cleaning or replacement parts then please bring one with you, with prior notice. We will be handing these toys to local charitable organisation ‘Turn around Toys Bexley’. This charitable organisation restores toys to a “ready to play” state and then donates them to services and community groups that benefit children in the London Borough of Bexley. Did you know washable nappies can save you approximately £780 per child! Come along to The Exchange, where you will be shown a large range of nappies and ask lots of questions about how they work and why to use them. There will starter sets available for you spend your nappy voucher on if you wish to get started there and then!
* To be eligible for a voucher you must provide proof of address and live within the London borough of Bexley, plus show proof of pregnancy or Birth of your baby under the age of 18 months. Eg a Matb1 form, Maternity Exemption card or Baby Birth Certificate.

Voucher Incentive Scheme:
To qualify for a £70 reusable nappy voucher, you will need to provide Real Nappies for London with the following supporting evidence:
- Proof of identity: e.g., your driver’s licence, passport or birth certificate.
- Proof of address/low-income: a recent council tax letter with your name and address showing that you receive council tax reduction.
- Proof of pregnancy/birth: an official document showing your name and the child’s expected date of delivery or date of birth (e.g. MatB1 form, Baby’s Birth Certificate, Hospital Scan Report letter). Your NHS Prescription Charge Card is also acceptable. For multiple births, please provide the hospital scan report. You will receive one voucher per baby.
You can apply in-person at the scheduled events. Remember to bring your supporting evidence with you on the day!

Nappy Ever After is also open every Tuesday afternoon, 2pm – 5pm. No need to book, just show up!
